Cookie Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This notice describes the cookie and storage behaviour of the current workshop website. Our frontend is designed to display articles and photographs without third-party tracking dependencies.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text values that websites may ask a browser to store. Similar browser technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage and some device identifiers. A cookie may be essential to provide a feature or may be used for statistics, personalisation and advertising. The purpose matters more than the file name.
2. Current frontend behaviour
The supplied HTML, CSS and JavaScript do not set analytics, advertising, social-media, preference or newsletter cookies. The site does not use remote tracking pixels or an external tag manager to render its normal pages. It is not necessary to accept marketing cookies to read the pages, and the site has no marketing-cookie banner because no such frontend trackers are enabled.
3. Hosting and strictly necessary cookies
Once the files are deployed, the chosen host, security gateway or content-delivery infrastructure could set cookies strictly needed for security, load balancing or service integrity. Whether this occurs depends on hosting configuration outside the static website package. Any such cookies should be documented by the actual operator and limited to appropriate purposes and lifetimes.
4. Cookie categories
Strictly necessary: none are deliberately set by the static frontend; deployment infrastructure may add essential ones. Preferences: none intentionally set. Analytics: none intentionally set. Advertising and targeting: none intentionally set. Social-media: no embedded social widgets or social-media trackers are included.
5. Browser controls
Most browsers let you view, remove or block cookies in privacy settings and clear local site data. Blocking all cookies may affect essential features if a hosting provider uses them for security. You can normally visit these informational pages without opting into non-essential tracking. Browser tools may display cookies belonging to other tabs or services; these should not be attributed to this site without checking their domains.
6. Consent
Where the site does not use non-essential tracking, a consent banner would have no preference to save. If future features require non-essential cookies or comparable storage, the operator must provide adequate notice and an appropriate consent choice before activating them, along with a way to change or withdraw consent where required. No pre-ticked consent or forced acceptance is implemented here.
7. Web logs versus cookies
A browser may send technical information to a hosting server even when it stores no cookies. Connection records such as timestamps, page paths and IP addresses are different from browser cookies. Please read the Privacy Policy for information about server logs and the limits of what can be inferred before hosting is configured.
8. Third parties and external links
The published frontend keeps its styles, scripts, fonts and images local and does not embed external advertising or analytics platforms. If you leave the site to visit another website, that operator may have its own cookie and privacy practices. Email or telephone providers used outside the website are separate services with their own systems.
9. Legal context
Depending on where a visitor lives, rules on storage and consent may arise under Canadian privacy legislation, Québec law, the GDPR and ePrivacy rules. Essential storage may be treated differently from advertising and analytics technologies. The operator must reassess compliance whenever the site is deployed with additional technologies.
